Exalted Ruler’s Report – July 2020

Aloha Fellow Elks,

I’d like to echo the mahalos issued by Board Chair Bud Lush and Secretary George West in their letters this month. It takes a lot to run the essential operations of our Lodge and Club, from Debbie and Teru in the membership office, to Adriana and Diego who head up our food service. Pauline makes sure our blasts have been going on out in a timely manner. Leslie at the front desk and Michelle at the front door have been answering your calls and providing information. Ceto and the maintenance staff have been busy with projects and routine upkeep. Everyone has been pitching in. Please forgive me for leaving out other important names, but do know
that your efforts are appreciated.

As our city and state go forward with reopening, we’ll be able to schedule some of our usual Lodge business—Lodge meetings, membership initiation, and hopefully, some of our summer holiday activities. As we get more guidance from the city and state, we’ll be sure to let everyone when and how these gatherings will take place. Stay tuned.

I would also like to thank members for their patience and kokua. It was exciting to see familiar faces at the reopening of the Club. Let’s continue to observe the masking and distancing requirements. It takes some getting used to, but I believe these are small inconveniences given the great joy we all experience at our Lodge.
