Aloha! We are moving through the year rapidly! Current membership applications continue at a pace sometimes requiring a second Investigation session. The Orientation Committee has been providing an excellent overview of history, culture, management organization and purpose.
Members are making good use of facilities and amenities at times taxing capacity of parking and pool facilities. The Board of Directors is working through fair practices in these areas respecting member privileges and rights while accommodating guests as manageable. Bathroom and locker room usage is at times particularly challenging.
Lockers in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms are available for immediate rental and a few surfboard and canoe racks are also available, but there is a wait list that we are first working through. Contact the Membership Office at 923-4935 if you are interested.
Communications media continues a transformation with the Informational TVs and email blast now being managed completely in house with the conversion of the Aloha Elk scheduled for transfer in August. Timeliness, accuracy and accountability are tenets. Kudos to Market Trends Pacific for bring us along to this point! See a notice elsewhere in this issue about opting out of hard copy mailing of the AE and going digital to save us money…oh, and some trees, too. Notice also elsewhere information on burial plots being offered at discounts to members. Proceeds will go to our charities.
See the Big Purple Pig at the front desk? Drop a few coins as you pass by and keep him weighted down. By the way, watch for improvements to the area under the stairs as plans are developing for a unique permanent display in one area with other areas left open for changing seasonal displays. Continued improvement all through your Lodge!
Aloha, e a hui hou. George West, Lodge Secretaryby
