The Hawaii District Elks Lodges was honored by a visitation from the Elks GER Michael Zeller and his First Lady Donna in January. He visited each Lodge and was hosted by DDGER Greg Sylvester’s home
Lodge in Kailua for his official Visitation Dinner. He had a busy itinerary, visiting historic sites, places of interest in Hawaii and famous island eateries, all the while trying to shake off a cold.
At the Kailua Lodge Dinner, he delivered a most inspiring speech about the organization’s successes and that change is a must if we are to remain a shining beacon in our community and to our members.
At the dinner, Our Lodge presented gifts to GER Zeller, a fine koa box for his important documents and letters, and a Reyns aloha shirt. To First Lady Donna a gift of two (2) Pandora bracelet charms was presented to her, to add to her already large collection of charms.
On the last day of his visit, our Lodge partially hosted a dinner for GER Zeller and his First Lady. Prior to and after his dinner he mingled and spoke with members in the lounge and pool area, signed membership cards (an Elk tradition) and was provided a tour of our facility.
The most memorable part of his visit at the Lodge was the beautiful Waikiki sunset which he and first Lady Donna shared together. Incidentally, it was also First Lady Donna’s birthday that night.
Our Lodge provided a cake with five (5) candles representing each of the Hawaii Lodges on the islands of Oahu and the Big Island. A small birthday gift to Donna from ER Andrew Watson and Audrey help celebrate the occasion.”
