As we head into a new Elks year, I’d like to welcome our newly elected officers to the Board. 2017-2018 will indeed be a year of transition with our renovations advisory work group leading efforts in refining our renovations plan. This group continues to work diligently in finding common ground and disseminating information to the Lodge – a truly member driven initiative!
Additionally, our journey of over 5 years is complete with a special Mahalo to Jim Dittmar and Jim Stites for navigating the uncharted course of acquiring multi-governmental approvals and permits in repairing our seawall footings – an amazing task that required the patience of a master navigator.
Lastly, statutes dictate that after each annual installation the Board must organize it’s leadership by electing a Chairman and Secretary – this organization will be conducted at the Board’s first meeting in April.
After recently being awarded an annual ENF Beacon Grant of $2,000, efforts are underway in organizing a 616 community beach cleanup/awareness activity tentatively scheduled for June 24, 2017. Brother Greg Hogue, Hawaii Business Manager for Kelly Corned Beef Co., of Chicago has graciously offered to donate hot dogs to feed our participants. More details to follow next month.by
