Now that the Club is “officially” open, it is great to see all of our members and guests enjoying the renovated facilities. There are still a few final touches that need to be completed and we are working on them.
We appreciate the input from members via the comment cards regarding the facilities and the food & beverage service. These issues are being dealt with. The loss of kitchen staff during the renovations and the efforts to replace them has not been easy due to the tight labor market in the industry. Chef Kirby Wong and the Club management have been making a concentrated effort in this area and as of this writing are making progress.
The shortage of personnel in the kitchen has caused a temporary delay in offering the dinner menu in the Dining Room. Members can still sit in the Dining Room area and food service is available from the Lounge Menu. Members will be informed when the Dinner Menu will be offered. During the renovation period and through the month of August, member sponsored banquet events will still be allowed to cater food from licensed caterers. It is anticipated that the Club will be able to provide in-house food service for our banquet events effective in September. Stay tuned!
The House Committee has received comments regarding live entertainment. A survey will be going out to members addressing not only entertainment, but other areas of the Club’s operation. We are working on getting the live entertainment lineup to the member- ship through weekly email blasts for members’ advance planning.
Please keep the comment cards coming in and let us know how your experiences have been for you and your guests while visiting the Club. It takes a lot of people, both paid staff and volunteers, to get the Club facilities to this point and we still have a little ways to go to get things completed.
Again, Mahalo to our Club management staff and the front and back of the house personnel for their efforts, as well as our Board of Directors, ER Apo and the Lodge Officers and other related volunteer committees for their help.
Fraternally yours, John Carroll Chairperson House Committeeby
