From The House Committee
ALOHA! The current 2017-2018 Lodge year will be coming to an end at the end of March, 2018. Your House Committee extends a Ma- halo to Exalted Ruler Bud Lush, Lodge Officers, Trustees, and Lodge Secretary George West for their efforts in working along with the House Committee throughout this past year.
We look forward to working with incoming Exalted Ruler Byron Apo for the 2018-2019 Lodge year. The House Committee welcomes new members Matt Chun, Rus Murakami and Wanda Kakugawa, joining Phyllis Horner and myself. There are some remaining issues that we will continue working on related to the renovations. The new priority will be preparing for the reopening of the Club upon the completion of the renovations.
Working along with the Club management team, the hiring of key personnel will include a kitchen manager, an assistant manager, as well as additional kitchen and front of the house staff. Developing new menus for the Dining Room and lounge is also one of our immediate tasks, as well as the training for our staff, are also among our immediate goals. Besides dealing with our immediate issues, we would like to set the course for the Club’s future operations. Tentatively, House Commit- tee meetings will be held on the second Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
As of this writing, the Locker Room facilities and the Front Desk should be operational on or about April 9. The Dining Room/Lanai area on April 20. When the Dining Room area opens, a temporary bar will be located within the Dining Room while work is done on the floor around the bar as well as the ceiling above the area. Once that work is completed around the main bar, it will be reopened. The kitchen should be ready on or about May 25. Again, these are estimates.
Mahalo again to all of our members who have continued to patronize the Club throughout the renovation project. The final results will be enjoyed by the membership and their guests in one of the most beautiful locations on Oahu for many years to come.
Aloha! John Carroll Chairpersonby
