Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts have been a part of our nation for over one hundred years. Can you imagine what the outdoor scouting experience was like in the year 1917 and what
scouts now experience in 2017? In the tradi- tion of Scouting, on-going membership devel- opment in communities established continuity in delivery a well-rounded program for young men (and now young women in programs such as Explorers).
BPOE 616 members – we need your help! Our scout enrollment has dropped over the last few years. The Pack and Troop are at risk if we don’t have more scouts in the program. Your 616 Scouts experience a wonderful scouting program with dedicated and trained adult leaders. There is no other youth pro- gram offered in our Country where the scout- ing uniform is known internationally, where youth learn skills which prepare youth for life, and where scouts often decide on their educa- tion and career path based on their scouting experience.
Please applaud the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with Elk Lodge 616 in their participa- tion at the Flag Day Ceremony, beach clean- up, regular Pack and Troop meetings and for the leaders meeting monthly, if not more, many emails, phone calls and messages among themselves to assure the highest qual- ity of scouting program offered. For these very reasons alone, your encouragement of new scouts to the 616 scouting family will as- sure us that our communities will be lead by fine young men.
